Some food for thought...

Apparently Sepp Blowhard is trying to "improve" the game again.

But this time, I actually like some of his ideas. Wow, sign of the Apocalypse much? :P

Here are some of the thoughts that were expressed:

- scrap AET completely and cut straight to penalties
- penalties instead of draws in the group stage
- four points for a win instead of three
- bring back Golden Goal
- implement "Silver Goal" (used in EURO)
- remove players periodically during AET
- NASL-style shootout (running in from 35 yards out instead of shooting from a spot)

The two options I really liked are bolded. However, I can see the cons of both as well.

The first and last two are, IMO, absolutely ludicrous. :P

Now let's hear your thoughts.

Silver goal rule was good, Golden goal a bit harsh to my opinion. I can see the point in skipping extra-time and getting straight to penalties... But these other options? Well, football has been played for more than 130 years without these ridiculous changes, so why should these be implemented now? My proposition for FIFA is to get rid of Sepp Blatter.

TBH i don't like any of them. I don't see why the insist to always try and make the game "better".

It's not like its a total mess now.

The only thing that really need to be put in is Goal line tech, not all this stuff

TBH I always thought the Golden Goal rule made teams turtle even more.  It didn't seem to me to make teams attack at will, it made them completely paranoid of conceding.
Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

I have a suggestion for Mr Blatter... goal line technology!!

This man seems to be on a misson to destroy the beautifull game. I cant take anything he says seriously.

The sooner football is rid of him the better as far as i am concerned.

Heh, I can understand people wanting to get rid of Sepp Blowhard.

And yes, goalline technology is a good thing.
