Last film watched on DVD (young child + lack of baby sitters = no grown up cinema going!) was I am Legend. What should have been a rip roaring faux zombie flick, all dressed up with plenty of pain and angst over the human condition, was too short and did not develop some of the characters as it should've done. Started off brightly enough, seemed to be introducing all the right bits of character development then appears to have lost its way on the cutting room floor. Shame really. 5/10 (wait for it to come on telly).
Also recently went to the vaults to watch One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - bleak of course, brilliantly acted and well worth another look at.
I can highly recommend The Prestige as a DVD worth a view, Batman fans will enjoy an excellent performance from Christian Bale and cameo from Michael Caine. Well directed, nice pace and good story with neat twists and turns throughout. 9/10.
Kung Fu Panda took my little girl she loved it. I thought it was pretty good too actually
Me too - last outing to the Cinema. Fine animation from Dreamworks, just paced well enough to keep the interest of little ones. It's no Shrek, mind you.
Same week took my lovely little daughter to see Wall-E and she fidgeted throughout, which, to me, is a sure sign the film makers haven't pitched their animation right.
Over recent times the one childrens film that has captured her imagination more than any other was The Waterhorse. She was engrossed start to finish!
