Midfield Crisis
« on: March 01, 2010, 05:42:45 PM »
So lets count it,
Lennon - Groin - 6 weeks
Bentley - groin - ?
Jenas - groin - ?
Hudd - ankle - ?
Palacios - agressive tendancies - 9 bookings

From the looks of it Bentley will be the first to return from injury, and hopefull it will be sooner rather than later. Until then we should line-up like this

Gomes
Charlie-Daws-King/Seb-BAE
Niko-Wilson-Modders-Bale
Pav-Defoe

What do you lot think?
"It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aimin low. And we of Spurs have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory."

"If you don't have to drag yourself off the field exhausted after 90 minutes, you can't claim to have done your best"

I thought one of the reasons we bought gudjonson was that he could play across the midfield, slot him into Thudd's spot.

As long as Modric or Krancjar are fit we should be ok, but Hudd taking a knock on sunday is not good news because he offers a different style of play to Modric, Palacios etc I heard Bentley wont be out long term as it is a minor groin pull. Jenas may as well be injured for the rest of the season because he is useless and goes unoticed when playing. Gudjohnson will be getting more game time now.

Good news, Hudds injury doesnt seem too bad and he is in contention for Fulham.

Sorry but you will have to rethink this line up Kaboul cant play in Fulham game he is Cup Tied. Looks like Bentley will be ok and I would like to see Gudjonssen play behind the strikers if he is fully match fit which up to now he hasn't been.

Jake Livermore was recalled to provide some cover.

I think we must keep our shape. We can continue playing 4-4-2. Modric in the centre, with Bale moving to LW and Ekotto returning to LB.

Now I'm thinking why we loaned O'Hara again. We're missing him in this crisis.

I think the biggest problem is with Lennon. Not only is he out for another 6 weeks, but the big question is how long will it take for him to regain his form?

Im not worried with Lennon, Hudds is out to see specialist! So its abit dangerous with the thinning CM players we have left.

^^Yeh but we need him as cover in the league, he his miles ahead of Jenas and actually puts effort in. I really hope we dont get rid of him in the summer but he wants to move if he isnt playing and doesnt want to be classed as a reserve or 2nd string player at spurs.

Yep, you would have though 'Arry would have recalled Jamie first, ahead of these kids he's recalled instead??

HR has left us a bit short in midfield....

Well Bentley's back in full training

so hopefully, we should be on the road to getting a fullly fit squad.
