Next Tottenham manager, who? I’ll have a guess!

Next Tottenham manager, who? I’ll have a guess!

Odds on it could be Simone Inzaghi, as he has been tipped to replace Jose Mourinho.

The press love it, speculation, article after article on who is the next manager to manage Spurs, then once he has been appointed, how long will he stay for?

It has been almost three weeks since Daniel Levy decided to kick Mourinho in the proverbials.

Our hopes of securing UEFA Champions League football for next season were all but ended yesterday following a 3-1 defeat to Leeds United at Elland Road.

Failure to qualify for European club football’s top-level competition could significantly impact on who we can appoint to become our next stooge to have his strings pulled by Chairman Daniel Levy’s, who is searching to select the next court jester.

Mourinho, who has already sealed a return to Roma ahead of the start of next season, was axed three weeks ago tomorrow, with Levy having already suffered blows concerning his hopes of appointing either Julian Nagelsmann or Erik ten Hag as his replacement.

Nagelsmann was immediately favourite with the bookmakers to replace Mourinho. Still, Bayern Munich moved quickly to secure the services of the RB Leipzig boss, confirming he will replace Hansi Flick ahead of the start of the 2021/22 campaign. Ten Hag, however, has put pen to paper on a new contract at Ajax, which will stop Levy in his tracks where Hag is concerned.

However, who we get must be allowed to give the club a bloody good kicking in the crystal balls and bring them back up to scratch (with a few new arrivals).

Other names linked to the Tottenham job include Brendan Rodgers, Graham Potter and even Belgium boss Roberto Martinez.

Concerning Simone Inzaghi, the odds have heavily reduced with him now the favourite to replace Mourinho. After being priced at 20/1 by SkyBet, he is now the favourite for the job. He has gone through the youth systems as a coach and manager at Lazio. Currently, he has the Italian club in sixth place in Serie A, with four matches left to play (similar to Tottenham’s position in the league).

Scott Parker, Potter and Rodgers are all currently joint-second favourites, with odds on those three presently being offered at 7/1.

Just behind those three, Nuno Espirito Santo, former Liverpool and Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez and German Ralf Rangnick are priced at 12/1.

Ryan Mason is priced at 20/1.

Here is the complete list of current odds to be the next Spurs manager, courtesy of SkyBet:

Simone Inzaghi – 9/4

Brendan Rodgers – 7/1

Graham Potter – 7/1

Scott Parker – 7/1

Nuno Espirito Santo – 12/1

Rafael Benitez – 12/1

Ralf Rangnick – 12/1

Antonio Conte – 14/1

Roberto Martinez – 14/1

Eddie Howe – 18/1

Hansi Flick – 18/1

Julen Lopetegui – 18/1

Maurizio Sarri – 18/1

Jurgen Klinsmann – 20/1

Ryan Mason – 20/1

Massimiliano Allegri – 22/1

Mauricio Pochettino – 22/1

Ralph Hasenhuttl – 22/1

Erik ten Hag – 25/1

Marcelo Bielsa – 25/1

Gareth Southgate – 28/1

Joachim Low – 28/1

Ledley King – 28/1

So, that is it, who do you fancy?  I would like Brendon Rogers or Klinsmann, who I don’t want is Ledley King, Scott Parker or Mason; they are too inexperienced.

I also noticed that Pochetino was on the list, which is stupid. Would he be that daft to come back to a cash-starved team dominated by Daniel Levy? I don’t think so. He has a club that is prepared to invest in the team, where Levy won’t. Daniel Levy believes that investing in large amounts of money in teams isn’t sustainable, however, investing enormous sums in himself, the board and investors is money well spent.

It is finally here, a new super book about the greats, Glories and all you want to know about the Tottenham great players (we are not worthy!) who have graced White Hart Lane and beyond. Sixty years ago this month, the Greatest Football club in the world won the double with probably the most outstanding team on this planet.

Has your eye’s seen the Glory? If yes (or even no) click HERE and follow the link, then they/ you will, and for those that are longer in the tooth (in other words, old like me)…. be prepared to be dazzled all over again!

COYS!

All the best, Glenn
