Another one willing to quit his job as manager for a move to Spurs
ESPN have asserted that Christophe Galtier could be set to quit Lille amid links with our club.
Alasdair Gold of Football.London’s has claimed that Spurs have now settled on a shortlist of managers to replace Jose Mourinho and are set to hold talks with the candidates. Gold stated that Brendan Rodgers, Graham Potter, Roberto Martinez and Scott Parker are all thought to be on the club’s shortlist. I’ll go with Rogers, but the other names are a joke. Not experienced enough and haven’t achieved anything significant.
However, Galtier is another name who has been linked with the vacancy. Since arriving at Lille, the Frenchman has done a commendable job, who are on the verge of beating Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title. I would say he was a better choice than Potter, Martinez and Parker. Paris Saint-Germain are managed by Pochettino.
ESPN claim that Galtier could just leave Lille at the end of the season. However, other clubs are interested in appointing Gaultier, Lyon and Nice being amongst them, but he has stated that if he does move, he would like to go to the Premier League.
I just hope that Levy isn’t thinking along the lines of the names supposed to be on the shortlist: Parker, Potter and Martinez. I can see why those names are on the list because Levy would be able to get them cheap and better in controlling them. Parker has just taken Fulham down to the Championship, Potter is with struggling Brighton and only just managed to keep them away from the relegation zone, as for Marinez, well, his time at Everton or even Wigan wasn’t a great success. All three are used to failure, and that might be why Levy wants them… to match his own record.
Christophe Galtier’s football history
He was born 26 August 1966 and is from France. He is the current manager of Lille OSC in Ligue 1 since 2017. He won the Best Manager of the Year award at the Trophées UNFP du football in 2013, and in 2019 after Lille finished second place in the 2018–19 Ligue 1 Conforama season.
Playing career
Galtier spent most of his playing career in France before ending his career with stints in Italy and China.
Managerial career
From 1999 to 2004, Galtier was assistant coach at Marseille, Aris and Bastia. From 2004 to 2009, he worked as Alain Perrin’s assistant coach at Al Ain, Portsmouth, Sochaux, Lyon and Saint-Étienne.
On 9 May 2017, Galtier announced he would be leaving Saint-Étienne at the end of the season upon the expiration of his contract. He remains the longest-serving Ligue 1 manager, having taken the reins for eight years. Now he wants fresh challenges, and the Premier League is his preferred destination.

I am currently a Premium Season Ticket holder (West Stand) in the new stadium. Before that – at White Hart Lane – a season ticket holder in various parts of the ground (mainly in the North stand).
Before becoming a season ticket holder, I stood on the shelf and various other parts of the ground since the 1960s (the season of the double). In 1987 I became one of the first to hold a Spurs Membership card. I was also a life long member of the Spurs supporters club (now defunct).
I go to all home, away and abroad matches.
I was born in 1955, Edgware, London. I currently live in Berkshire.
I also collect all Spurs books, Spurs handbooks, Spurs programmes etc.
Previously, I wrote for Spurs Fanzines: The Spur, Spur of the Moment, My Eyes have seen the Glory and various other Spurs fanzines’. I also wrote for the SpursWeb app & its website.
I currently write and work for spursnetwork.com and its website. I write its Reviews & Match reports and a lot more.
My other interests are; reading, history, social history, Politics, going to the gym, wine, going out for a meal, music (all sorts), writing, theatre, concerts, going on holidays, socialising etc.
